Cars for Compassion
Cars for compassion is one of many ways the Basant Foundation involves itself in the local community. The business owned by the foundation gave a car (Nissan Sentra 2017) free to a family in need. The winner was selected by a team comprised of the Rotary Club of Surrey, and the vehicle was presented by Vancouver hockey player Antoine Rousel. Though numerous families were nominated for this giveaway, one entry in particular stood out: Karen Moreas, a mother of eight children was chosen. Karen works hard to raise her family and at the same time volunteers to assist those less fortunate.
Thus, giving back to the community is what made this applicant unique. John Aldag MP who is well aware of Karen’s community work was present at the event. These are the values that resonate with Baldev: giving back to the community is a priority for him. The Foundation plans to give away such gifts on regular basis.
