Album of Punjabi Songs
In 2016 Basant Foundation financially supported the production of an album Zindagi De Rubroo. The CD produced by Surrey’s Naad Foundation offers songs penned by well known Punjabi poet Jaswant Singh Zafar. The CD was released at the Zindagi De Rubroo 2016 event with some of its songs sung by Gagandeep Singh with other Naad musicians.
Clean Literary Singing
Basant asant Foundation in 2019 established an annual award Vivek Sur Sanman Prize in the memory of Vivek Pandher. The prize aims to promote
clean literary singing in Punjabi. The inaugurate program of the prize was held at Guru Nanak Bhavan, Ludhiana, Punjab.
The song selected for singing was “Masti Di Basti” penned by Baldev Singh Bath of the Basant Foundation. Several singers took part in the competition. Five top singers were awarded prizes with Manraj Patar at the top most.
International South Asian Film Festival (ISAFF)
Basant Foundation extends its financial and moral support to another popular program: The International South Asian Film Festival, held annually in Vancouver. The festival produced by Mannu Sandhu has gained popularity over the years with its presentation of a wide variety
of movies often attended by large audiences. The foundation has been supporting the festival for years. The festival was founded by actors Patricia Issac and DJ Parmar in 2010.
Music Concert
Continuing its tradition of promoting arts the Foundation sponsored the 2013 annual Punjabi Music Concert held in Abbotsford. Several popular singers, actors and dancers from India and Canada participated. The show was led by famous singer actor producer Diljit Dosanjh along with such artists as, Neeru Bajwa, Rana Ranbir and Amrinder Gill. The event was very successful attracting audience comprised of all age groups, from small children to elderly.
