Meeting with Village Folks

Apart from establishing the Bhai Kanhaiya NRI Welfare Society, Baldev Singh Bath has been meeting and helping individuals for years. In 2018 he provided Rs 150,000 and in 2019 Rs. 350,000 to the needy. Baldev often visits homes of the people in need. These are some of his stories:

I met a man who was affected by polio leaving him immobile since childhood. The man did sewing work for living. Upon visiting his tailor shop I noticed his equipment was very outdated making
his work difficult. We bought him new equipment.

And then I met Naseeb from a Dalit
background whose grandfather and mine worked together on our farms. I remember when as a young man I worked with my grandfather and Seebu (Naseeb) helped us. He maintained a close friendship with our family. After Seebu died, poverty struck his family who could no longer afford a home. We gave our family home to Seebu’s son who’s now living there with his family.

At another occasion I met a mother
of three young children. The mother had developed an invasive leg infection. She was sad and teary as she had difficulty in walking and couldn’t provide proper care for her children. The money we provided enabled her to get the medical treatment to treat the infection in her leg.

In 2018 I met 8-year old Manisha with her family. She kept looking at me without saying anything. When I spoke to her parents, they said she could not speak or hear, nor could she walk. But her smile, I could never forget. On my second visit in 2019, I went to see her again. I promised to take care of her needs to ensure that her smile continues.
