Asees
Basant Foundation supported the production of Punjabi feature film, Asees, in 2018. The film was written and directed by well known Punjabi actor/writer Rana Ranbir who also did the lead role. The movie shows an important aspect of Punjabi culture by highlighting a strong bond between a mother and her son. The movie was well received and is expected to encourage further production of serious Punjabi movies. The Foundation plans to support more such productions.
The movie is recipient of a best story, best dialogue and best debut director awards, presented by the PTC, 2019.
